At Special Needs Kids Day at the Lake, we strive to bring people together and create a sense of belonging and connection within our communities. We are a nonprofit organization committed to making a positive impact through Special Needs Kids Day, on Glade Marina at Lake Altoona.
Special Needs Kids Day is a fun filled day of friendship, generosity and fellowship that was created as a way to show our love and support of our Special Needs Community. This event was created by Randy West, and is complete with food, games, give aways and a boat parade. During the parade, special needs participants and their guests will be loaded on boats and paraded around the lake. This event is guaranteed to generate plenty of smiles, laughter and happiness among all of those involved.
The event is FREE to our Special Needs Community and would not be possible without the generosity of our wonderful boat captains, volunteers, sponsors and guests.
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for supporting us in this journey.
As our next event quickly approaches, we’re making preparations for it to be a day on the lake to remember. We are so excited!

The big day may have come and gone, but our excitement continues as we plan our next event. Pictures will be posted soon.
Randy West embarked on this journey after a dream he had. In this dream a special needs child was waving to me from a boat, on the lake. It spoke so strongly to me, I felt I needed to act on it and create something big, or in hopes to be something really big." We wanted to have a special day for kids to have fun out on the lake, and so in 2018 Special Needs Kids Day was created.

An event for children with special needs and their families -a free, inclusive celebration on the lake, highlighted by our signature boat parade and made possible through community support.
Creating smiles, one wake at a time!
